Careers in Communications (CIC) is one of CMNSU’s oldest annual events.

First hosted by the students of CMNSU in 2013, CIC is an event by and for Communication students. Every year, we aim to provide a space for students—attending SFU CMNS or not—to learn more about the Communications field straight from industry professionals. 

Providing our attendees with their choice of roundtable speakers allows them to hear from individuals working in various jobs within the field. From journalism, public relations, marketing to content creation, our goal is always to offer a diverse set of industry professionals that can provide CIC attendees with the opportunity to learn about every career option open to them after graduation. 

Those with experience in the industry can teach a lot, and we strive to provide our peers with an educational experience that they might not be able to achieve through books and papers throughout their undergraduate degrees. 

Although the event is primarily intended for Communication students, anyone from any major is welcome at CIC. We aim to shed light on the field of Communication and provide opportunities to all.
