3 Fall Activities to Explore in Vancouver
With us now entering the peak of the fall season, I've compiled a list of fall/spooky themed activities to check out in Vancouver. I find taking the time to go to some of these places, or other seasonal events, can really help alleviate the stresses of the midterm time in the semester. So, without further ado, here are 3 of my favourite places to go and things to do to embrace the season in our wonderful city.
Pumpkin Patch
A fall classic. Whether you are looking to decorate for Halloween, or just want some cute Instagram pics, a pumpkin patch is the perfect way to get into the fall mood. Here are a few locations I would recommend around the Lower Mainland:
2. Forbidden Vancouver Walking Tours
Although this attraction is available year-round, they have a number of seasonal tours that would be the perfect way to kick-start spooky season. Learn some creepy facts about Vancouver's history with an interactive, and theatrical walk lead by local actors and tour guides.
3. Apple Picking
Apple’s are a fall staple, but apple picking is an activity I find is often overlooked. It’s so satisfying to know the apples you pick will be local and organic. This will also allow for even taster results to be produced if used for so many fall favourite recipes, like apple pie or apple cider. And remember most importantly, an apple a day keeps the doctor away!
Taves Family Farms (they also have a really awesome pumpkin patch!)
I hope you consider some of these suggestions and embrace what our city offers this fall. If the activities I listed here are not enough to get the season’s vibes going, a number of our famous Vancouver tourism spots also offer fall or halloween themes this season. Some of them include: Fright Nights at the PNE, Fin-tastic Fall Days at the Vancouver Aquarium, Canyon Frights at the Capilano Suspension Bridge, Harvest Days at the VanDusen Botanical Gardens, and many more. This year we have had a bit of an extended summer when it comes to weather, so no excuses! Put on those cozy fits, grab some friends and family, and enjoy our beautiful Vancouver fall while you can. Happy Falling!
