Top Five Food Places at SFU Burnaby

To all the folks who constantly forget their already-prepped meals (like myself) at home, here is my own list of the top five places to grab some grub at the Burnaby campus!

1.  Togo Sushi

For all you sushi lovers out there, Togo Sushi is certainly a treat only minutes away from your lecture hall. With solid prices and great quality fish, it’s hard to beat the idea of having a quick lunch here before your next class.

My recommendation: Kamikaze roll or udon

2.  Gawon Korean Restaurant

Located in the MBC food court near Convocation Mall, this little spot has some simple yet awesome options for mid-day meals. Good-sized portions of Korean dishes such as bibim-bap and kimchi fried rice are what this place is known for. Try walking past the smell coming from the kitchen and see if you can restrain yourself from not ordering, I dare you.

My recommendation: Chicken mayo, kimchi fried rice, or their cheesy ramen

3.  Steve’s Poké Bar

A staple in the SFU community, Steve’s Poke Bar is considered by some to be the best place to eat at in the Burnaby Campus! Although its prices might be on the higher side, their quality of fish and portion sizes are more than worth it, and their sauces are to die for. Just try not going broke with how many times you’ll be ordering from this place.

My recommendation: Create your own Poké bowl!

4.  Quesada

Certainly a controversial pick considering the fan favourite Lone Star Tortilla Co., Quesada deserves its spot due to its very student-friendly prizes and its large assortment of potential toppings. A large burrito with guacamole for under $13? Yes please!

My recommendation: Burrito bowl with spicy chicken

5.  Dining Hall

Ah, Dining Hall, a classic. Open 24/7, Dining Hall is a sanctuary for students coming off their Friday and Saturday nights who simply need a place to sit down and something in their stomach. Pay once and its all-you-can-eat! Bring some friends, chill out, and chow down on their rotating buffet.

My recommendation: Be on the look-out for their special food events!
